BABS Future Surgeons

11 March 2023 @ 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

Through the generous sponsorship of the Royal College of Surgeons’ Grassroots in Surgery Scheme, the British Association of Black Surgeons is offering a bespoke course to support and encourage Black Foundation Year, Core Surgical trainees and final year medical students considering a career in surgery. International Medical Graduates not currently in training are also welcome.

The course is delivered by an experienced, predominately Black Surgical Faculty. In addition to practicing surgical skills under a high faculty-to-candidate ratio, there will be advice on training, exams and portfolio building, options for portfolio review, speed mentoring (a taster of the forthcoming BABS mentoring scheme) and human factors training. Unique to this course is our DEI workshop on Practical Survival Skills for the Surgical workplace delivered by Author, Podcast Host and Leadership career coach Katherine Ann Byam, MBA.

At the end of this course, attendees will be better prepared to succeed in their surgical careers.

An email will be sent closer to the course date regarding options for the morning session, dietary requirements, etc.

Tickets can be purchased at babs.eventbrite.com
