Programmes Development Officers
Job Overview
The Programmes Development team will help create and execute programmes across the Association. They will have the creativity, energy and motivation to build a diverse series of programmes and engagement activities to strengthen the Association’s membership and influence.
Reports to: Chair and Trustees
Term: 3 years (reviewed after 1 year)
Position: Voluntary
Responsibilities and Duties
- Help deliver a diverse calendar of programmes for Consultants, those transitioning to consultant-level positions, higher surgical trainees and those early in surgical careers – throughout the year.
- Liaise with key teams across the Association to propose and create online and in-person programmes in line with the Association’s mission, vision and core values.
- Liaise with the Treasury team to manage the budget, draw up supplier contracts, and arrange payment of supplier invoices.
- Coordinate the logistical elements of programmes delivered, e.g. set-up, tear-down, and clean-up operations, etc.
- Develop post-programme reports to inform future events.
Essential Criteria
- In a surgical specialty as defined by the Royal College of Surgeons in the UK.
- Based in the UK.
Desirable Criteria – Head Officer
- On the GMC specialist register (doctors who are eligible to take up appointment in any fixed term, honorary or substantive consultant post in the NHS).
- Experience with successful programmes delivery – but not essential.
Desirable Criteria – Assistant Officers
- Experience with successful programmes delivery – but not essential.
