Research and Audit Officers
Job Overview
The Research and Audit team will develop partnerships with other organisations to help the Association better understand the surgical landscape for Black surgeons. They will also promote participation in research amongst members and raise awareness of research engagement opportunities.
Reports to: Chair and Trustees
Term: 3 years (reviewed after 1 year)
Position: Voluntar
Responsibilities and Duties
- Help develop a research network for the Association.
- Help create and conduct membership surveys.
- Run programmes and initiatives to develop research skills and widen participation in academic research for members.
- Provide information on research opportunities, prizes and grants.
- Work with the Association’s partners and facilitate collaborative studies to better understand the surgical landscape for Black surgeons.
- Use up-to-date EDI data to help guide the Association’s strategic direction.
Essential Criteria
- In a surgical specialty as defined by the Royal College of Surgeons in the UK.
Desirable Criteria – Head Officer
- On the GMC specialist register (doctors who are eligible to take up appointment in any fixed term, honorary or substantive consultant post in the NHS).
- Previous experience with qualitative/quantitative research – but not essential.
Desirable Criteria – Assistant Officer
- Previous experience with qualitative/quantitative research – but not essential.
