Social Media Officers
Job Overview
Social Media officers will work within the Communications team to promote the Association’s mission, vision and core values. They will ensure that all messaging adheres to the Association’s social media policy and GMC guidance.
Reports to: Communications Head Officer
Term: 3 years (reviewed after 1 year)
Position: Voluntary
Responsibilities and Duties
- Create and curate posts and campaigns for BABS social media platforms, including Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.
- Analyse analytics to understand the success of posts and campaigns.
- Liaise with experienced design professionals to help develop social media assets.
- Hold regular meetings with the communications team to decide on specific scheduled posts.
- Work with the communications team to draft, edit and publish content through the Association’s online platforms.
- Help produce the Annual Impact report for members and donors.
Essential Criteria
- Already in or plans to enter a surgical specialty as defined by the Royal College of Surgeons in the UK.
- Excellent knowledge of social media platforms.
- Media savvy digital communicator.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience managing an organisation’s social media presence, including publishing content, driving and responding to engagement – but not essential.
